Primary Funding joined forces with Monarch School for the second year in a row to collect much-needed school supplies for San Diego’s homeless youth. Our team, office building neighbors and colleagues all pitched in to donate to this wonderful organization. We’re giving our back-to-school drive an A+!
Founded in 1987, The Monarch School serves San Diego’s homeless students with comprehensive educational resources for grades K-12. Did you know San Diego’s population of homeless students is over 23,000? Nationally, there are 1.2million homeless youth. These children are at risk of becoming the next generation of homeless adults unless someone steps in to help. By providing the resources that children need to grow in an educational environment, we are helping to end the cycle of homelessness.
Normally, heading back to school is an exciting time. For homeless children, it can bring additional stress and uncertainty. Families might worry about where they’re sleeping – not where to get the coolest backpack. Monarch School steps in to take some of that stress away by providing school essentials to their students.
Thanks to PFC’s Chris Ramos, who organized the drive and delivered our donated items! Thank you for being a champion for these kids and giving back to your community!
Have a safe and happy new year, everyone!
