Pat formed Primary Funding in 1995 after several years of learning and growing in the factoring business. Pat retired in 2015 and remains active in many community and company endeavors. She has two daughters and enjoys traveling, photography, and a good glass of wine.
Jason joined Primary Funding in 2012 and was named CEO in 2021. Jason is actively involved in the San Diego community, including ten years as a board member of the American Heart Association. He also served as a committee member and Chairman of San Diego’s March of Dimes “Golf Fore Babies Tournament.” Jason is married with two young children and enjoys golfing and traveling.
Richard joined Primary Funding in 2016 as Vice President of Operations and was named President in 2021. He’s responsible for our operations team, loan portfolio, credit standards, underwriting group, and helps improve and administer our “Lines and Loans” programs. Richard is a San Diego native who resides in North County and continues to be active and well connected in the banking community. Richard and his wife Ashlee have two children and enjoy traveling and living an active San Diego lifestyle.
Vice President, HR and Administration
Diane joined Primary Funding in 2012 as an Office Manager and later became our VP of Human Resources and Administration. She’s very active in both of her children’s lives, participating on the board of the PTA, Girl Scouts, and Boy Scouts. She also loves traveling with her family, hiking with the family dog, and playing tennis. In addition, she has recently started mountain biking with Jason.
Director of Sales & Marketing
Daniel joined Primary Funding in 2013 and has held every role within the company until recently being named Director of Sales & Marketing in 2021. He’s actively involved in the San Diego community and oversees the sales and marketing teams. Daniel is a San Diego native and enjoys surfing, fishing, outdoor activities, and spending time with his family.
Assistant Vice President
Lauren joined Primary Funding in 2018 as a Senior Account Executive and was named Assistant Vice President in 2021. She’s responsible for assisting in the management of our clients. Lauren holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Colorado and an MBA from Lasell College. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys spending time outdoors being active with her husband, Todd, and two dogs, Stella and Matix.
Assistant Vice President, Credit Analyst
Karenza joined Primary Funding in 2018 and is responsible for underwriting and onboarding new clients. In addition, she manages Primary Funding’s line and loan portfolio. A proud Aztec alumna, Karenza graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s in business administration with a specialization in finance. In her spare time, Karenza enjoys spending time outdoors and hiking with her daughter, playing the guitar, and cheering on the Padres at Petco Park.
Business Development Officer
Jeff joined Primary Funding in 2020 and is responsible for building relationships within the community. He brings over 15 years of diverse marketing and business development experience. Jeff enjoys surfing, golf, running, meditation, photography, creative writing, and spending quality time with family and friends. He’s a proud uncle to Sadie and Colby too!
Business Development Officer
Fernando joined Primary Funding in 2018 and is responsible for developing relationships within the community. He prides himself on building long-lasting relationships with a network of bankers, brokers, and clients. Fernando currently serves on the board of the Chicano Federation and regularly volunteers at both his daughters’ schools. Fernando likes to enjoy the beautiful San Diego weather with his wife and two daughters in his free time. He also enjoys working with his hands and taking on home improvement projects whenever possible.

As a leader within the organization, my favorite thing is working with such a committed team day in and day out. The amount of care and passion they have for the company and one another is the main reason we have such a great culture here at PFC.
