MEET: Karenza McNair

TELL US ABOUT YOUR JOB. WHAT IS IT LIKE WORKING AT PFC?
Working at PFC has been one of the best experiences in my professional career! From excellent leadership to great colleagues, my favorite part about my job is the PFC culture. We’re not just teammates, we’re like family!
As far as the work itself, I enjoy getting to speak with entrepreneurs and business owners of all kinds and learning about their company. As a credit analyst, I handle a lot of the underwriting for new accounts and some of the stories I hear are truly fascinating and inspiring, and I get to learn so much about other industries as well. It definitely keeps things interesting!
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO ON YOUR DAYS OFF?
In my free time you’ll find me with my husband, our daughter, and our two dogs. We have a 10-year old German shepherd/lab mix and a 6-month old Belgian Malinois. We like to take them to dog beach in Ocean Beach and hiking the various trails of San Diego. My husband and I are huge sports fans, so prior to COVID you would find us at Petco Park cheering on the Padres during baseball season. I’m also very passionate about music and spend some of my free time playing the guitar.
WHERE DID YOU GO TO COLLEGE? WHAT IS YOUR DEGREE IN?
I studied Business at San Diego State University. I have a BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in finance.
WHERE DID YOU GROW UP? DO YOU HAVE KIDS? ARE YOU MARRIED?
I grew up in San Diego, La Mesa to be exact. Aside from two years spent in Temecula, I’ve lived in San Diego my whole life. I actually just recently got married. My husband and I were supposed to have our wedding in April but we had to postpone it due to COVID-19. We decided to go through with the ceremony and will celebrate next year once things are (hopefully) a bit more normalized! Our daughter Ellie is 9 and she just started 4th grade. She’s a bubbly little girl with a heart of gold, and absolutely loves music, just like her mama!
IF YOU HAD A SUPER POWER, WHAT WOULD IT BE & WHY?
In these crazy times, a super power I’d love to have is the ability to be in two places at once! It would be great to be able to homeschool my daughter AND work all at the same time.
