Primary Funding always likes to find ways to give back to our community. Whether it be through financial donations, volunteering, or nonprofit partnerships, we believe community involvement is important, and we enjoy doing it!
Mark your calendars. On Wednesday, January 19, 2022, we are sponsoring a blood drive with the San Diego Blood Bank. A single donation can save three lives. One blood donation provides different blood components that can help up to three different people. Blood cannot be manufactured. Despite medical and technological advances, blood cannot be made, so donations are the only way we can give blood to those who need it.
The blood drive will take place at our office located at 2173 Salk Avenue, Carlsbad, 92008, between the hours of 10:00am and 3:00pm

In 1950, the San Diego Blood Bank was established through the support of the San Diego County Medical Society. The foresight and dedication of founding fathers Dr. Thomas O’Connell and Dr. Frederick G. Hollander, led to the San Diego Blood Bank of today, an organization known for excellence in its service to our community.
Dramatic events and exciting medical advances over the years have accelerated the organization’s development. The progress of open-heart surgery and its concurrent blood requirements in the mid-1960s propelled the San Diego Blood Bank into an even more vital role in our community. In 1981, San Diego Blood Bank was among the first blood banks in the nation to formalize a designated donor program, which allows patients to select their own donors. Their autologous donor program was also put into place, more than 30 years ago, for patients who wish to pre-deposit their own blood for planned surgery.
One thing that has not changed since the very beginning is the remarkable commitment and selfless spirit of San Diego Blood Bank’s most vital resource – blood donors. Their entire donor population is solely volunteer and has been since 1974. Some of today’s donors are as young as 17 and nearly half are women. Their generosity is as keen as ever. In fact, a few of their regular donors have been donating almost as long as the San Diego Blood Bank has been in existence!
