This month, we at Primary Funding had the privilege of a Q & A session with our client, LEUS, a true artist in the art of towel making. LEUS, the self-proclaimed “Towel Geeks” are crafting some of the most amazing towels we’ve ever seen. Here’s what they had to say during our chat…
Tell us your story. When did you start your business?
LEUS was founded in 2017 over the universal need for a product, which has become an afterthought. It’s a commodity that has been around since ancient Egyptian dynasties, and even older, yet no one made the connection of towels being its own category with the variety of towel usage and its global need, under one brand.
Being from the surf industry, we saw an opportunity with the beach culture, its synonymy to leisure, and a gateway to other markets like golf, outdoor, fitness, home…
Not only have we highlighted the category, but we disrupted the market by thinking outside the box when it comes to marketing, merchandising, the production process, and material technologies.
How does your business differ from the competition? What makes your product / service unique?
While our competition approaches the towel market in a traditional way by marketing primarily towards women and aiming their sights around the home market, we do not. We are untraditional. We are selling fun and the outdoors to everyone. And when it comes to consumerism, we’ve always been eco-conscious, yet honest that we’re not perfect and are always trying to find better solutions every season.
Any new products you’d like to promote?
Since the beginning, we have been known for our ponchos. They dry you off, keep you warm, offer an easy and private place to change into your wetsuit, are super comfy, and come in tons of colorways. Right now, however, we are about to launch into the fishing market with our Fishing ECO Towel. This is a rare product for the market, with no competition, and a massive opportunity to bring a unique product along with an eco-story that is absent in the fishing market.

When did you start working with PFC? How has PFC helped your business?
Primary Funding has been supporting us since day one, at the conceptual stage. We still remember meeting with Jason and Richard, presenting them a PDF with our concept, and we were extremely lucky they believed in us and our vision. Since then, they have been supportive along our journey, whether through PO financing, factoring, or operational loans.
