Primary Funding is a strong believer in supporting the community you live and work in. We encourage our team to get involved in organizations that are important to their personal values and passions. Like our Business Development Officer, Fernando, who sits on the board of the Chicano Federation here in San Diego. The Federation provides resources to San Diego families wanting to create safe and stable lives.
Fernando, along with fellow board-member, Minerva Garcia, recently represented the Chicano Federation at a press conference for Promise Neighborhood. This program will receive $70 million in grants and matching funds from government agencies and local community partners, including The Chicano Federation. Inspired by Harlem’s Children’s Zone in New York, Promise Neighborhood will supply programs with funding for improving education and socio-economic outcomes for children in the Barrio Logan, Logan Heights and San Ysidro neighborhoods.
We are proud of Fernando and his work in the San Diego community! Read more about the Promise Neighborhood and the programs being funded in the Union Tribune’s press release here.
